She: with violet, transparent billowing skirt
swaying confidently down a Sydney street
Her: tense aging face, but swishing loose torso
bright sandals slapping a weathered patio
She: with red plastered lips, wide earnest eyes
laughing between dull pearl earrings
Her: white legs, crossed expertly at the ankle
staring intently at the man, really a boy, and wondering
is he the one? (her body suspended, liminal, coiled)
All: sentient paintings, fireworks amidst the masses
reminders of the aliveness around us and in us
